Tara Diel, Manual Physical Therapy
Tara specializes in a holistic approach to treating patients through manual physical therapy. Her treatments are hands on and specific to each patient's needs, geared towards finding the source of what is causing discomfort in the body and correcting it. This is done using a wide variety of treatment techniques depending on what the individual needs to reach optimal alignment and function. These include techniques to work on alignment, mobilizations, working with the organs and soft tissues to reduce tension present in the body, cranio-sacral techniques, muscle energy, myofascial release, kinesio-taping, as well as exercise recommendations and stretches to follow through with at home to help maintain the corrections performed during treatment.
Most importantly, manual physical therapy is effective! Most individuals feel considerably better after their first appointment. Treatment can benefit people of all ages and all lifestyles ranging from athletes to infants to young professionals and elderly individuals – all with their wide range of issues from a wide variety of causes. Some of the problems frequently addressed include neck and back pain, plantar fascitis, sinus problems, joint dysfunction (sprains, arthritis, immobility, etc.), heart burn/reflux, digestive problems, headaches and discomfort commonly associated with pregnancy – just to name a few.
Tara graduated from the University of Scranton with her Masters in Physical Therapy. She then continued on to attend the Canadian College of Osteopathy for five years of intensive training in manual therapy techniques to sharpen her skills as a manual practitioner. Since completing this program, Tara has continued to take advanced classes in manual therapy techniques. She is licensed by the Maryland Board of Physical Therapy and has been practicing physical therapy for over 10 years.
In addition to her practice at Federal Hill Massage, Tara also sees patients in Laurel, MD. To learn more about Tara and how she uses Manual Physical Therapy, please visit her website at www.holisticsolutionsphysicaltherapy.com.
